Louisiana Metal Band ABSOLUM signs to Metal Assault Records

Metal Assault Records is excited to unveil its newest signing. Bringing the heavy riffs from the swamps of Louisiana, ABSOLUM has joined the MAR roster.

Absolum is a new band, but comprising well-established musicians with a ton of experience in the Louisiana heavy rock/metal scene as members of bands such as Electric Age, Slaves Of Freedom, Deface, Wicked River Rising, and many others.

Absolum presents a blend of stoner rock and thrash metal with elements of groove and extreme metal. In keeping with the pattern of bands currently signed to MAR, Absolum is difficult to define or confine within a single sub-genre, but at the same time, they do carry and exhibit that distinct Louisiana metal vibe.

MAR will release Absolum's debut album, Grand Design, on September 24 2021 on digipack CD and all digital platforms. Pre-orders will be launched on August 6, along with the premiere of the lyric video for the title track.

Grand Design track listing:
1. Believer (4:09)
2. Grand Design (3:48)
3. Chemical Abyss (3:29)
4. Black to Red (5:34)
5. The Apath (2:58)
6. Exordium (3:26)
7. Thin Skin (2:43)

More about Absolum:

The members of what would become Absolum gathered in 2019 in a makeshift rehearsal space to see if that which seemed a good idea in theory, and on paper, would translate to becoming a band. With Jason Ogle (Electric Age,Leak, Slaves Of Freedom) and Freddie Ehrhardt (Deface) having been friends and working on albums with one another for 20 years, the pair had never actually played music together. Then there was Blake Cage (ex-Wicked River Rising), on the verge of selling his equipment right before getting the call about this new project... yet thankfully, that sale didn't happen.

It was obvious at the very first rehearsal that these three guys, when united together, sounded huge for a 3-piece band, and something was clicking. Over the next few months, the guys wrote songs and recorded demos, while toiling with the idea of recruiting other members to the fold. They reached out to Houma Louisiana native Myles Brunet(Cyanide Smile, Grave Child, Oak Pointe, Space Viking). Myles set out to demo some tracks at his studio and the process had begun, with a style of not easily defined but Louisiana Metal mixed with Thrash to Stoner Rock to Heavy Metal The band set out in the studio late 2020 to record what has become Grand Design, being released on Metal Assault Records.
